With a view to complying with Federal Law 11645/08, which makes the teaching of African history and culture compulsory in Brazilian primary education, this research aims to develop bimonthly didactic sequences that include the comparative study of Brazilian, Afro-Brazilian and Portuguese-speaking African literature (in particular Angolan, Mozambican and Cape Verdean literature), Angolan, Mozambican and Cape Verdean literature), in order to give first-year high school students in São Paulo the opportunity to read and interpret texts from different literary styles and contexts, reflecting on the dialogical relationships between literature and society.
