Since ancient times, Man was obliged to know some essential aspects of the life of animals, for having to live in the world in direct contact with these living beings, he had to know how to differentiate the dangerous species from the peaceful ones. This is how primitive man lived for several millennia, and it was not until a little more than two thousand years ago that the rudiments of zoological science emerged. We all know that Zoology deals with the study of animals and is a very broad science, since it is concerned with investigating the many aspects of animal life, and for each of these, there is a particular branch in the zoological sciences. But, in addition, Zoology also gives rise to various specialties whose main objective is the detailed knowledge of each group of animals, and within which are the following: Malacology, Carcinology, Entomology, Ichthyology, Herpetology, among others.
