ForewordFor decades AC Grindl has been writing in journals. Notes, entries, platonics, as are his poems now called and business moments. What may elude him as a way to express himself throughout an entire book like Words Will Never hurt Me, that has no real direction other than the beginning and end or Bland Book written out of desperation, these platonics or poems can put a lot of emotion and feeling together in a simple and transparent fashion. The words seem to flow out of frustration and sometimes love that is hard to predict and endure the emotions in one cohesive manner.  These platonics are a way to showcase to the world the struggle that a man of his word finds with being copied. As these have all been published briefly on Facebook and this is the first time, they will be released to the public in one formal arrangement. At last, the encouragement was not there to write a final ode to his wife for giving him so many words of pleasure. It may be included in another book of platonics to be published many years from now. But for now, the copycats may be on their point if some of these cross out into the public not only in this book but through the guise of Facebook posts newly uncovered. It’s safe to say that only one line of these platonics was taken from Frost, the rest are indeed the natural words of the artist himself, AC Grindl. Keeping that in mind, many musicians might find a new depth to music they can create with the newfound words in these pages. The anguish and the toil to keep the words at bay from being looked over without pause only brings this long overdue piece of artwork to the table.Safely from the comfort of being an already published author with much to lay on the line, more is here to extinguish the cause from the effect in the mental dilemma the author faces daily. Are these words to keep him further from work? Or, is this a right of passage to be able to clearly and justifiably state what is the bother to the framework of his reality. Many of these passages can be taken to light unanswered prayers for groundwork to people who have lived along the same path. For many, they did not come to a fortuitous outcome and were left stranded. Much as the author did collecting food stamps in the past coming back to the US from afar and pursuing social security disability insurance unable to leave again to collect a more secure entry. Maybe this time, with enough said there were will be a faithful, hopeful and charitable outcome.

The ambiguously titled Love Bites is the debut offering from K D Halliwell, a Milton Keynes based author who describes the collection as a document of her twenties. Original and with a format that stands out from the ordinary, it is proving particularly well-received by those who “don’t normally like poetry”. Originally written by hand, the author has traversed a fine line betw...

    Jennifer Chrystie
‘There’s a touch of both Dickinson and Larkin in Jennifer Chrystie’s mature exhumation of the tales and tropes of family. Figures who could so easily flit like phantoms in her well honed poetry are palpably enjoying an after-life in the poet’s ability to redeem through deep understanding. The collection arcs from, at one extreme, the parsimonies of the household, to the transce...

    Edward V Bonner
The very title of Edward V. Bonner's first volume of poetry, One Kiss (Ingram, 2015), suggests some ways in which the poems inside balance the universal with the particular. Most of the poems examine the themes of beauty and risk, pleasure and danger, in the context of one of three kinds of relationships: to romantic partners, to the spiritual world, and to the world of nature....
