1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.در ابتدا کلمه بود، و کلمه نزد خدا بود، و کلمه خدا بود۔1:2 The same was in the beginning with God.در ابتدا نزد خدا نیز همین بود۔1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.همه چیز به وسیله او آفریده شد؛ و بدون او چیزی از موجودات وجود نیافت۔1:4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.در او حیات بود؛ و آن حیات، نور آدمیان بود۔1:5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.و نور در تاریکی می‌درخشد؛ و تاریکی آن را درنیافت۔1:6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.مردی از جانب خدا فرستاده شده بود که نامش یحیی بود۔1:7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.او برای شهادت آمد، برای شهادت بر نور، تا همه مردم به واسطه او ایمان آورند۔1:8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.او آن نور نبود، بلکه فرستاده شد تا بر آن نور شهادت دهد۔
