C’est aussi le résultat de plus d’une décennie d’études sur le fleuve Iguazu. C’est dans ce lieu de maturation des contributions tissées sur une trajectoire longue et prolongée que la compréhension présentée ici est modulée. Nous sommes en présence d’une interprétation qui nous permet de cartographier les significations culturelles des espaces naturels, ce qui, malgré l’imagination dépréciative des populations riveraines, en particulier dans leurs valeurs et leurs modes de vie, nous permet également de les cartographier, de les situer historiquement dans leurs expressions culturelles. Leur lecture, à son tour, nous donne un point de mire, une compréhension complexe et approfondie du Paraná et du Brésil dans les contextes étudiés.
