Evolution the book of poetry and prose is about the social ills of a socioeconomic reality of what it is to be educated in one sense, and mis-educated in another. Evolution is one man’s voice the pain of disenfranchisement, the struggle to find one’s place in a world of disillusionment. This journey filled with clouds and a voice that brings clarity to ask questions to be angry enough to stand and be heard, and at time being discouraged his voice (the poet is that among many searching to be heard, understood and embraced). Evolution is about enlightenment, what it will take to move beyond self inhibition, and is about the ill affects of stagnation. Evolution delves into self-awareness, and writing gives way to a catharsis. Evolution attempts to pave way to what really matters by constantly probing questions within one’s prose of what’s really happening. What is truth if does not set you free? Who is God, if you can’t be loved or have the liberty just to be who you are. Evolution is the author’s stage, the reader is the audience, the mind will be the recipient, and the heart is the impetus that will feel the affect of the words that are heart felt. Evolution is a coming of age experience that captures what the possibility of language does, that is, brings forth life. Evolution is a thought-provoking expose of hurt, a cry if you will in the wilderness of loneliness. The author encapsulates the meaning of life in the poem 'Rays Resounding'. Evolution seeks to be definitive in a undefined world. Evolution seeks to quench those questions that render meaning.

In an era of social crisis and change at the end of the 19th century, the German poet Stefan George created a modern social imaginary for homosexual men. The newly-coined term ’homosexual’ gave expression to an emerging category of modern man. But in discovering himself, the modern homosexual found little resonance in the society around him. Through his poetry George created a ...

    T. M. Moore
Poetry plays an important role in the Bible, and this suggests it should have some role in the life of Christian faith. The essay in this book argues that Christians today must rediscover the role of poetry in the life of faith, and that some, at least, should be open to receiving a calling to poetry as part of their service to the Lord. ...

The book offers a thorough study of the early poetry (1956-1971) of the Ukrainian/American writer Yuriy Tarnawsky, focusing on its evolutionary path from late modernism to postmodernism, which the author conceptualizes as a 'shift of dominants' from humanist (existentialist) questions to an anti-humanist and post-epistemological perspective. ...
