El anhelo de inmortalidad es un deseo antropológico, que intenta ser encauzado por nuestro autor de distintas maneras, hasta llegar a su madurez filosófica. Este trabajo pretende mostrar la génesis del ansia de inmortalidad, así como las primeras exploraciones llevadas a cabo por nuestro autor en este ámbito. En un segundo momento, esta fijación por la muerte se analiza en la obra Del sentimiento trágico de la vida, que presenta la madurez del pensamiento del autor. Se plantea el anhelo de inmortalidad como un deseo antropológico que, manifestándose insatisfecho, acaba desembocando en la opción existencial del tragicismo.
