Jocelyn Onno, known as Onno, (1931 - 2018), never stopped creating throughout his life. For him, everything was a source of poetic and playful inspiration, whether it was the clothes he wore, the elements of nature or the objects that surrounded him. Onno’s techniques varied according to the emotion of the moment. Surfaces could be worked in oil, gouache, chalk or Indian ink. A former student at the Arts Appliqués de Paris with a degree in advertising and graphic art, Onno spent his life painting and his career designing for the fashion and furniture industries. He used to say that 'the joy of painting is the joy of being amazed', using every moment of freedom to express himself, producing an extraordinary artistic heritage that echoes his personality. Onno says: 'I’m a former designer of textile patterns and I love bright colors like Spanish red. Black and white are elements close to my heart that I use with red', 'these colors that intermingle, overlap, or compete for the canvas, there’s no explanation', 'I don’t control anything'. This exhaustive catalog retraces the life and career of this artist.
