This book represents the third chapter in a series dedicated to Italian armored cars utilized during World War II. Following the first volume, which covered the Lancia 1Z and the FIAT 611, and the second volume, which focused on the AB 40/41/42/43 models, this edition shifts its attention to the remaining vehicles that best illustrate the progression of Italy’s armored forces. Beginning with the Autoblinda AS 42, it explores the various models developed from the late 1930s through the end of the war. The ’Saharan’ model, in particular, played a crucial role in the desert campaigns and across multiple theaters of operation, including Africa, Greece, Russia, and other fronts. Its significance makes it a key element in understanding the technological advancements and tactical developments of Italian armored vehicles during the conflict.
